Remove "49cities" limit patch for Fallout2 v.1.02d----〉说明文件的抬头
以下是说明:
Purpose:
This patch removes hardcoded limit for maximum 49 worldmap locations
in Fallout2 game (listed in file \\patch000.dat\\data\city.txt).
Locations are towns, villages, bases and Special|Random Encounters
locations.
You should keep in mind, this limit is hardcoded in game executable.
Though all new MODs with brand new locations (thanks to this patch)
will be incompatible with not patched versions of the game.
In such cases you'll see an error message at start of the game.
Modified executable back compatible with all previous MODs and standard
games.
Install:
To patch the game you need to run f2_city_patch.exe and point it to
file fallout2.exe. Then press "Start" button to apply patch.
This patch has been tested with these versions:
- english 1.00, exe-length = 1186304, CRC32 = FA5EE34E;
- english 1.02d, exe-length = 1189888, CRC32 = D1A5F960.
Usage:
To use new features you should unpack file \data\city.txt from
patch000.dat to Fallout2\data\data\ directory. Then edit it
in any text editor (for example, you can add new section to the
end of file in order to add your brand new SpecialEncounter)
You should keep in mind: File \data\city.txt placed in official
BlackIsle patch 1.02d (in file patch000.dat). Though to activate your
changes you should unpack entire patch000.dat in Fallout2\data\ directory
and remove patch000.dat from game directory, then edit file \data\city.txt
as you wish.
There is an example new location - there is a directory in archive with
this patch named \data - after patching the game place its contents in
Fallout2\data directory and remove file patch000.dat.
Begin new game and near Arroyo on worldmap you'll see new location,
copy of Stables from NewReno
Disclaimer!!!
This patch is slightly modifies Fallout2 executuble. You can use it
only at your own risk. If it hurts you - don't use it!
